## Solve your algebra problems step-by-step

Just enter the equation or inequality into the box above, select the variable you want to solve for from the menu and hit Solve!

If you want to enter **exponents**, you can use the carat symbol (^) or two times symbols (**). So, if you wanted to express x², you would enter x^2 or x**2. Apart from that, you can enter any algebra problem just as you see it in your textbook. For detailed information on how to enter problems, please also see our FAQ.

If you **move the cursor over the explanations**, you will get detailed information on what parts of the equations were transformed and how. The explanations are organized hierarchically, meaning that if you want more details on how we solved the problem, you would simply follow the hierarchy. Additionally, you will get a **plot** of your equation, if it only contains one variable.
